Dakota was out Thursday night with 1st grade neighbors Sadie and Logan who are trying to figure out riding bikes on two wheels without much success. When mom got home Dakota told me to take his training wheels off and I did it. Then we did the sidewalk coast and crash for about 20 minutes. We were out doing the coast and crash at 7:30 this morning for about 40 minutes then I went in to call Ms. Jeanine at Kindergarten about something while being hounded about biking to the park by Dakota and I kept saying when she calls me back we’ll go. She called by about 10 so off to the park went when while balancing the bike and rider by the handlebars, he played with Carter and another bud while I talked to the moms. I told them last night we took the training wheels off and are learning to crash on two wheels. Dakota came over for something and I said lets show them how you can almost ride over on the Basketball court and said no, but Kara said please show me, that’s all the coaxing he needed as the moms went back to talking as I walked back across the woodchips to the bike rack. I got Dakota balanced on his bike on the court and off he went, across the court and ½ way up the hill towards the restrooms before having to lay it down. We got balanced again and off to the woodchips he went, I called over to Kara who was amazed and cheering! We took off and rode a bunch around the park and back home to have lunch. I am now being hounded to go out and ride more. Next he has to learn how to start without me being involved. Now a whole new level of cockiness happens now that he can ride before the 1st grade girls!
